After months of gradual erosion the vehicle entrance at the south end of Manga Pirau Street is now no more. In fact a quad or 4 wheel drive going to the beach with too much speed would end up over a sharp drop into a deep river hole.
These photos taken by John Hewitson have been sent to Horowhenua District Council in an effort to get some action on a new stopbank to deflect the river and prevent further erosion.
Maybe ratepayers should request Horizons Council to use the transport levy component in our rates to put on public transport to take us to the Levin Pool as our access to the beach is now gone. This would make our pool levy in the District rates easier to understand.

Access to the beach is very easy for those that can manage to walk.
