Feasibility study rejected

The Manawatū Standard reports on the Horowhenua District Council’s Long-Term Plan Hearings:

…at the district council’s Long-Term Plan hearing on Wednesday [02 May 2018] … Eleven residents from tiny beach community Waikawa Beach lined up to speak, each telling the council a feasibility study to look at supplying town water and wastewater systems to their community was not wanted, and salt would be added to the wound if rates were increased to duplicate services they had already paid for privately.

All said they were happy providing their own facilities, such as rainwater tanks or bores and septic tanks — which buyers understood when they bought in the rural township.
