Hard rubbish collection, 13 January 2018

The Association organises a hard rubbish collection every second year. It’s a great chance to get rid of those awkward items cluttering up the shed.

Hard rubbish collection: 13 January 2018, starting 9 am. $5 to $10 for small amounts; bigger items: $20.00. You MUST advise us beforehand.

UPDATE Saturday 13 January 2018: the collection has been and gone. If you had rubbish collected but haven’t yet paid please either give the money to a committee member or pay online. See Please Pay your Subs for bank details.

Two trucks arrived promptly at 9, staffed by 3 people. John Hewitson, Kevin Burns, Miraz Jordan, Dominic Hayden and Barry Whitaker travelled with the trucks to help load items and collect money. When they’re done the trucks are weighed and the Association is charged for the collection.

The collection proceeded at speed, with about 20 or 30 pickups all over the village and Strathnaver. Large metal items went on one truck, while the rest went in the other and was crushed.

Many thanks to all those who helped us clean up our community a bit.

    1. Hi Nick, it’s a door to door collection, but you need to advise us beforehand. Use the contact form on the blog post or email the Secretary.
