High-angle groyne removal

On Thursday 06 June 2019 we received the following email.

There has been an independent study carried out on the Waikawa stream outlet which has shown that the existing rock groyne needs to be changed. The groyne was constructed a few years ago with the information that was available at the time. The recent study completed by Tonkin and Taylor states that the groyne is being detrimental to the flow direction.

With this new information we going to be relocating the rock that makes up the groyne. The rock will be placed onto and reinforce the old groyne.

This work is being planned for the 11th June (weather depending).

Kind Regards
