It’s great to see how well the spinifex is growing in that area and how well it’s fostering dune growth and beach retention.
The only real problem is that the north track from Reay Mackay Grove has become quite long — about 250 metres. That’s hard for people with mobility issues, or those bringing kids and armfuls of beach gear, or others with elderly dogs.
When spinifex is planted in that area later this year a shortcut may be put in to help access the flat area of the beach a bit more quickly and easily.
