Some of the people who put in a submission will have received a copy of the Councils planner’s report by email.
Under the Resource Management Act Council are required to send out a copy to all who made a submission on the application and indicated that they wanted to be heard. These were to be posted today, and Tony Thomas (HDC) has also emailed a copy to all he had email addresses for.

More than ninety ratepayers attended the presentation held at the Hank Edwards Reserve on Saturday night. David Clapperton (Strategic and Corporate Services Manager, HDC) and Hamish from Boffa Miskell discussed the options for growth and answered questions after the presentation.
The Development Plan will form the basis for growth in Levin and the Horowhenua for the next twenty years. To help develop the Plan, Council needs to hear from the community. If you were unable to attend the presentation, comments can be made by completing the form available at
Nine fire trucks from Levin, Otaki and Te Horo, and a helicopter with monsoon bucket responded to the scrub fire at the northern end of the pine plantation. The blaze is believed to have been triggered by fireworks.
The ute that got stuck trying to cross the river has since been written off.

A public meeting to discuss the Horowhenua Development Plan will be held at the Domain, Waikawa Beach, on Saturday 19 January 2008 commencing at 7 pm. This meeting has been organised by the Horowhenua District Council.
The draft plan shows large areas at Waikawa as areas suitable for subdivision and this is your opportunity to express your views on the future development.
